Hari Marini, Associate Professor of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts at the Ionian University, participated in Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space 2023 that was held in Prague, June 2023. Hari Marini gave a talk in the panel of PQ Talks 2023: “Feminist Scenographies”, which explored how feminist scenography is expressed in built environments and in different urban geographies.

The aim of the Ionian Contemporary Animation Festival ICONA 2023 is to present the best from the field of animation from all around the world. The festival also aims to preserve and help develop the cultural heritage of animated film, contribute to creation of new films, provide ground for potential international co-productions and encourages dialogue between professionals, filmmakers and the public. The 1st International Festival of Short Documentaries ended on Monday 30 January. The festival was organised by the Creative Documentary Centre of Kalamata and the Kalamata Municipality, hosting guests and participants from 32 countries.

The fifth international conference Taboo - Transgression - Transcendence in Art & Science will take place September 27–29, 2023 in Valletta, Malta. TTT is an interdisciplinary and nomadic event, where both practitioners as well as theorists present and discuss the status of art-science and/or art & technology. TTT, created by Dalila Honorato, Assoc. Professor, Dept Audio & Visual Arts of the Ionian University, is based on the support of a large informal network of international researchers and practitioners that develop their activities at the edge of art and science intersections. The conference language is English. Proposals must be sent electronically through the EasyChair submissions system until January 31st, 2023.

The University Museum in collaboration with the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University, offers to the general public the "Creative Workshop of Interactive Educational Experiences in the Museum using Augmented Reality".

The year 2022 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Greek-born pioneer composer and thinker Iannis Xenakis, and is accompanied worldwide by events dedicated to his memory and work. To honour this Greek-born musician, a marathon concert takes place at Athens Conservatory, on Saturday 17 December, presenting works inspired by his musical work and his reflections on science and technology and the role of muscles in society and the arts. This event, which takes place at the Athens Conservatory from 7 pm until 3:30 am the following day, features musicians and artists from ten different countries (Greece, Italy, Germany, Turkey, Japan, Mexico, England, Ireland, Germany, Turkey, United States).

On Wednesday December 14th, 2022, (17:00-19:00 pm), Dr. Dalila Honorato, and Dr Tania Tsiridou, docents of the Department of Audio & Visual Arts, invite you to the guest lecture “The body as text: the interaction between body and technology in performance art” by the post-doc researcher Dr. Eleni Kolliopoulou.
