On the occasion of the centenary of Manos Hadjidakis’ birth, the Athens Concert Hall, in collaboration with the Friends of Music Society and the Greek Film Archive, is organizing a round table discussion titled “Like an Old Movie…”, featuring the following guest speakers:
Maria Komninou, Emeritus Professor of Sociology and Political Communication at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, President of the Greek Film Archive
Renata Dalianoudi, Associate Professor of "Music and Audiovisual Culture" at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, Ionian University, and author of the book “Manos Hadjidakis and the Popular Music Tradition: From the Folk and the Rebetiko to the Art Popular Song”
Fotis Apergis, Director of ERA 2 and Journalist, and
Nikos Kypourgos, composer and Manos Hadjidakis' close collaborator
The event includes screenings of four emblematic films: "Topkapi", "America America", "Never on Sunday", and "Eroticus the Great"
