The first inter-institutional podcast featuring the presentation of two Departments — the Department of Audio & Visual Arts of the Ionian University and the Department of Audiovisual Mesns & Informatics of the University of Barcelona — took place during Renata's Dalianoudi visit, Associate Professor at the Dept. of Audio & Visual Arts, as a visiting professor via the ERASMUS program, at the Dept. of Audiovisual Means & Informatics at the University of Barcelona.
The participants in the discussion, which focused on the curricula of the two related departments, were: Professor of Musicology and Audiovisual Media Dr. Andrien Faure Carvallo, his PhD candidate Ms Ana Martinez, Dr. Manos Rovithis, Laboratory Teaching Staff at the Dept. of Audio & Visual Arts of the Ionian University (who also visited the University of Barcelona via ERASMUS), and Renata Dalianoudi, who originally conceived the idea.
The discussion was coordinated by Renata Dalianoudi.
At the end of the podcast, the instrumental piece Sardana can be heard — a folk Catalonian dance performed during national holidays and major celebrations — recorded by Renata Dalianoudi during a field ethnographic study on Saturday, April 11, Lazarus Saturday before Catholic Easter, at the main square of the Cathedral in Barcelona.
We hope that more podcasts — inter-institutional or not — will follow, in order to enrich the audiovisual archive of the Ionian University with valuable and engaging content.
