The Master of Research in Hybrid Arts (MARes) at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University proudly announces the participation of MARes Visiting Professor Dr. Adam Zaretsky and postgraduate student Angelina Almukhametova (MARes 2024–2025) in the event Art Science Salon: BioArt, hosted by the University of Puget Sound, USA.
This international salon gathers pioneering voices working across Art, Science, and Technology, including Dr. Aisen Caro Chacin, Dr. Adam Zaretsky, Dann Disciglio, and Angelina Almukhametova. The discussion and presentations will explore contemporary practices in BioArt, where biotechnology, sensory perception, and embodied media become tools for creative inquiry.
The presence of Dr. Adam Zaretsky, whose practice combines ethics, ecology, and performance through Wet-Lab Art, together with Angelina Almukhametova, whose work investigates cybernetic and techno-cultural systems, reflects MARes’s commitment to supporting artistic practices that bridge critical theory and experimental science.
The Art Science Salon: BioArt is organized by Siddharth Ramakrishnan at the University of Puget Sound, fostering global exchange among educators, researchers, and artists engaged in interdisciplinary creative research.
