The Society for Corfiot Studies – Solomos Museum, in collaboration with the Ionian Islands Region and the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, as part of the events celebrating the 20th anniversary of its establishment, is organizing a "Tribute to the author Konstantinos Theotokis" on Thursday, June 13, Friday, June 14, and Saturday, June 15, 2024.

AVARTS Live Game Hub is an action aiming to bring together new game designers and creators and showcase their ideas to the public. Assoc. Prof. Dalila Honorato, Director of the InArts Lab at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University, participates as a guest-speaker at the Bio Art Forum taking place in Novi Sad, Serbia, on May 16-18, 2024, as part of the project Bio Awaking. The specific objectives of the project include developing a network of bio artists across Europe, strengthening the capacities of European artists in utilizing biomaterials, and creating bio art installations using environmental samples. Additionally, the project will focus on involving decision-makers in all phases of the process, fostering an audience for bio art that supports environmental conservation, and nurturing cultural, artistic, and educational collaboration in addressing environmental challenges in Europe and the Balkans.

Renata Dalianoudi, Associate Prof., Dept. of Audio & Visual Arts, Ionian University, is invited by the President of  La Biennale d Venezia, Professor Pietrangelo Buttafuoco, and by the Curator of the 60th International Art Exhibition, Mr. Adriano Pedrosa, to be present at the events of the International Exhibition, concerning Music, Dance, Theatre, Cinema and Fine Arts, on April 17-18-19, 2024, in Venezia.

InArts Lab - Department of Audio & Visual Arts members’ Styliani-Anna Klimatsaki, PhD Candidate, and Dalila Honorato, Associate Professor, participate with the article "Taboo in world cinema: Female protagonists in incestuous relationships” in Technoetic Arts: A Journal of Speculative Research 21:2, by the independent academic publishing house Intellect.

The AM Journal of Art and Media Studies, Issue 32 (2023), is now available for public access. Published by the Faculty of Media and Communications at Singidunum University, Belgrade, Serbia, this latest issue delves into the multifaceted theme of "Art, Science, and Health."

Assoc. Prof. Dalila Honorato, Director of the InArts Lab at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University, participates as a member of the organizing committee at the conference FEMeeting: Women in Art, Science and Technology 2024 taking place in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, on June 23-29, 2024.

On 13 and 20 December, 2023 (time 17:00-19:00 pm.), a double-lecture entitled "Semiology of Internet Art" will be given by guest-speaker Dr. Tania Tsiridou (Specialized Teaching Staff of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University), as part of the course "Semiotic Analysis of New Media" (ΜΑ "Audiovisual Arts in the Digital Age"). Hari Marini, Associate Professor of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts at the Ionian University, was keynote speaker to the international conference Tartalo. The VII International Conference on Myth in the Arts organized by the Faculty of Arts, University of the Basque Country, November 2023. Her paper was entitled: "Moving Through Mythical Space: Unknown Terrains and Site-based Performance Practices".

Project Mystery 91_Magnetic Dance, explores the relationship between technology and culture through a series of performances in collaboration with artists from Greece, Japan, and France. The technology for the project was developed within the framework of the HAL research project of the Department of audiovisual Arts at the Ionian University and is presented here for the first time in autonomous, large-scale works.

The fifth international conference Taboo - Transgression - Transcendence in Art & Science will take place September 27–29, 2023 in Valletta, Malta. Approximately 170 speakers from more than 30 countries focused (a) on questions about the nature of the forbidden and about the aesthetics of liminality, and (b) on the opening of spaces for creative transformation in the merging of science and art.
