Konstantinos Tiligadis, Professor at the Dept. of Audio and Visual Arts, participates in the “3rd DIGITAL ICON, International Festival of Contemporary Visual Media,” Thessaloniki 2026.
For the third consecutive year, the Municipality of Thessaloniki, in collaboration with the New Media Visual Arts Laboratory of the Department of Visual and Applied Arts, School of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh), is organizing the “3rd DIGITAL ICON, International Festival of Contemporary Visual Media” at the Municipal Art Gallery - Casa Bianca, 25-27.9.2026.
International, renowned, and newly discovered visual artists present artistic proposals utilizing new technologies. This year, they faithfully follow the motto of Art History and Aesthetic Perception: “The CENTER of each Artwork is the observer.”
Nationally and internationally awarded guest artists and professors specializing in Contemporary Visual Media—such as Artemis Potamianos, Stathis Mitsios, Michel Winterberg, Nefeli Dimitriadi Bachara, Asaf and Moran Gam Hacohen, Konstantinos Tiligadis, J. I. Agnew, and Marios Spiroglou—alongside debuting artists like Avraam Koen, Dimos Nanousis, David Boué, and Antonia Tsiochrini, present parts of their research journeys. By covering the travel and hospitality expenses of the international artists, as well as the entire logistical infrastructure and co-management of this venture, the Municipality of Thessaloniki and the Municipal Art Gallery once again validate and recognize the pioneering research, creative, and educational work, as well as the selfless contribution of the New Media Visual Arts Laboratory of the Department of Visual and Applied Arts, School of Fine Arts, AUTh.
The New Media Visual Arts Class is the newest laboratory of the Department of Visual and Applied Arts, School of Fine Arts, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
Operating since 2018, its curriculum includes Analog and Digital Drawing and Colour, Photography, Animation, 2D and 3D Graphics, Non-Narrative Video, and Interactive Systems for Digital Multimedia Art Installations.
The presentation of pioneering creations by international digital visual artists, combined with the experience of the art-loving public of Thessaloniki and its visitors interacting with these artworks, establishes our Thessaloniki as a point of attraction for audiences seeking contact with the “DIGITAL ICON” through artistic creations that require experimentation and the creative use of new technologies.
