Renata Dalianoudi, Associate Professor of “Music and Audiovisual Culture” at the Dept. of Audio & Visual Arts of the Ionian University and Scientific Director of the Institute of Greek Music Heritage (IEMH), participates in the 4th International Scientific Conference on the Sarakatsani, entitled “Sarakatsani: From Nomadic Life to the Digital World”.

Her paper, co-authored with Dimitrios Goulimaris, Professor at the School of Physical Education and Sport Science of the Democritus University of Thrace, is entitled:

“From Field Research to the Digital Archive of the Institute of Greek Music Heritage: The Musical Tradition of the Sarakatsani. A Case Study of the Sarakatsani of Sliven, Bulgaria”.

The conference is organized by the Sarakatsani Association of Evros Prefecture, the Panhellenic Federation of Sarakatsani Associations (P.O.S.S.), and the Laboratory of Folklore and Social Anthropology of the Department of Humanities of the Democritus University of Thrace.

  • Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace
  • Municipality of Alexandroupoli

The conference is held with the support of the Holy Metropolis of Alexandroupolis and the Union of Cultural Associations of Evros.

15–17 May 2026, Alexandroupoli

The conference is open to the public.

The conference is held under the auspices of H.E. the President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Konstantinos Tasoulas.
