Renata Dalianoudi, Associate Professor at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University and Scientific Director of the Institute of Greek Music Heritage (IEMΚ), participates in the World Congress of the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres (IAML), which will take place for the first time in Greece and in Thessaloniki.
The Congress coincides with the 75th anniversary of the Association of IAML and with the 10th anniversary of the establishment of its Greek branch, IAML GR, and brings together institutions and specialists from Europe, USA, Africa, Asia, and Oceania, addressing a wide range of contemporary issues — from collection management and preservation to Artificial Intelligence and copyright law — thereby highlighting the future of music documentation and archival practice.
The title of Renata Dalianoudi’s paper is:
“The Performativity of Archives in Concert Halls and Performance Venues: Case Study, the Upcoming Exhibition ‘Thessaloniki: The Musical Palimpsest in the Twentieth Century — Popular and Art Music Creation’, organized by the Institute of Greek Music Heritage (IEMK) and the Thessaloniki Concert Hall.”
The World Congress is co-organized by the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres (IAML), by the Department of Music Studies of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and by IAML GR, with the support of the Institute of Greek Music Heritage (IEMK).
The Congress programme includes seminars on music librarianship and archival studies, as well as concerts featuring Art music and Byzantine music traditions, held under the auspices of IEMK.
The Congress will take place in Thessaloniki from 28 June to 3 July 2026.
Venues include the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, the Ceremonial Hall of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the Church of Saint Demetrios, and the Teloglion Fine Arts Foundation.
