Daphne Dragona, Assistant Professor in the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, is taking part in a symposium taking place at the Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi on 26 and 27 October 2026. The symposium is organised by the Fondazione In Between Art Film to mark the group exhibition ‘Canicula’, which is currently on display in Venice at the Complesso dell’Ospedaletto.
Building on the curatorial, artistic and architectural concepts embodied by the exhibition – which utilised the conditions of blinding light and scorching heat as a material and metaphorical framework, within which matter, people and ideas are subjected to immense pressure – the two-day symposium examines the aesthetics and politics of art and exhibition-making amidst today’s cultural, political, social and climatic crises.
Daphne Dragona will be giving a lecture entitled “Blinded by It All: On Art, Agency, and Critical Distance".
