he Winter School in Hybrid Arts Methodology returns to the Athens School of Fine Arts Annex on the island of Hydra for a week-long immersive program that brings together postgraduate students and faculty for collaborative academic exploration, artistic experimentation, and intensive research development. Running from November 24 to 28, 2025, the Winter School provides a dedicated environment where emerging researchers engage directly with leading practitioners in hybrid arts, media archaeology, performance, sound, sustainability, bioart, and critical theory. The Winter School in Hybrid Arts Methodology is co-organized by the InArts Lab  of the Department of Audio & Visual Arts - Ionian University on behalf of the Master of Research in Hybrid Arts (MARes) and the C’ Sculpture Studio of the Athens School of Fine Arts. The program operates within a framework of Social Ethics that fosters respectful communication, inclusivity, and accessibility.

The Master of Research in Hybrid Arts (MARes) invites you to a talk by Professor Vasileios Karyotis, Head of the Ethics and Research Deontology Committee of the Ionian University and Associate Chair of the Department of Informatics, on Monday, November 4, 2025 at 16:00 (4:00 p.m.) on the topic Ethics Release Procedures in Academic Research.

The Interactive Arts Laboratory (InArts Lab) of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts at the Ionian University is pleased to welcome back the Master of Research (MARes) in Hybrid Arts 2024-2025 student Nathalie Dubois-Calero for the second phase of her residency as part of the Artist-in-Residency (AIR2025) program at the Node of Hybrid Arts.

Ghazal Ramzani, a Berlin-based Iranian dancer and choreographer, has completed groundbreaking research connecting indigenous dance practices to anti-colonial and ecological movements across Europe supported by Ionian University. Ramzani, who received funding through the Rewilding Cultures Mobility Conversation program in 2024, traveled by train across Europe to interview practitioners of indigenous dances rooted in resistance movements. Ramzani holds a Master of Fine Arts in Contemporary Performative Arts from the University of Gothenburg and received formal training in Kathak dance at the National School of Kathak in New Delhi. She was previously awarded the Indian Council of Arts and Culture recognition and the Artisens Vanner scholarship.

A new film by Serafim Parsaloglou Marathias, student at the Department of Audio & Visual Arts, TTTlabs BioFeral.BeachCamp (BFBC): New Repro-Zombie Studies (NR-ZS) – Undead Bioart / Bodyart on the Beach, offers a closer look at a unique art camp held from April 5-14, 2024, at the Annex of the Athens School of Fine Arts on Crete.

AV-school, the series of seminars and workshops of the Audiovisual Arts Festival, will be held at the Public Central Historic Library at Corfu from May 28th to May 31st, 2024. AV-School 2024 theme is “Impressions” and it celebrates the Department of Audio and Visual Arts’ 20th Anniversary. The program is open to all those interested in contemporary art issues and new technologies, focusing this year in topics related with film, performance art, radio, gaming and art research. Registration for both workshops and seminars is free, and attendees will receive a certificate of attendance.

Audio & Visual Arts of the Ionian University, participates as a speaker with Dr. Olga Majcen Linn in the theme "Witchcraft-Science-Health".

On Thursday, November 25th, 10:00am (classroom 11), as part of the course "THE906-Practice of Exhibition Design", we will have the pleasure to have Dr Adam Zaretsky with us on a guest lecture entitled “IT'S ALIVE! Understanding bio-art: art and biology exhibited”.

FACTT 20/21: Trans-disciplinary & Trans-national Festival of Art & Science opens on January 28 2021, at 8.30 PM (GMT) and will be exhibited online during 2021 with different events to be announced taking place throughout the year across continents.
