TTT2027 Vienna: Call for Papers, Artist Talks and Artwork Presentations – 7th Interdisciplinary Conference Taboo – Transgression – Transcendence in Art & Science
14–17 September 2027 | University of Applied Arts Vienna (Angewandte), Austria
Submission deadline: 11 November 2026
The Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University is pleased to announce the opening of the Call for Proposals for the 7th Interdisciplinary Conference Taboo – Transgression – Transcendence in Art & Science (TTT2027 Vienna), taking place from 14 to 17 September 2027 at the University of Applied Arts Vienna (Angewandte), Austria.
TTT is an international nomadic conference encouraging critical dialogue and exchange across art, science, technology, and society. The conference provides a platform for artists, researchers, scholars, and other practitioners to investigate the boundaries of knowledge, established conventions, and emerging artistic and scientific practices.
The seventh edition places particular emphasis on care, interdependence, nourishment, extraction, and the conditions that sustain and transform life. Taking the placenta as both a biological reference and a conceptual framework for relationality, temporality, and mutual dependency, TTT2027 Vienna invites critical and experimental perspectives on the relationships between bodies, technologies, ecosystems, and social structures.
Suggested topics include, but are not limited to, feminist and queer practices of care, reproductive justice and bodily autonomy, bioart and biotechnology, artificial and artistic intelligence, hybridity, symbiosis, ecological repair, biopolitics, creative labour, and economies of care.
The conference welcomes contributions from artists, scientists, researchers, curators, performers, technologists, and interdisciplinary practitioners, as well as collectives working across artistic and scientific domains.
Proposals are invited in the following categories:
- Academic and research papers
- Artist Talks
- Artwork Presentations
Applicants are invited to submit an abstract or project description of up to 300 words through the official online submission platform by 11 November 2026.
All submissions will be evaluated by the international TTT2027 Scientific-Artistic Committee. English is the working language of the conference.
TTT2027 remains committed to open and inclusive participation. Registration and participation are free of charge, with no fees for presenters or attendees.
