The ninth Festival of Audiovisual Arts will take place from Wednesday, May 27 to Sunday, May 31 in the City of Corfu. As in previous years, the festival presents art works by students and faculty of the Departments involved as well as of invited artists. This year, the Festival also includes presentations by members of the European Art Science Technology Network project (EASTN). The main exhibition and performance venues are the Ionian Parliament building (Ionios Vouli), and the Aretaios building and the Skarpas' patio of the Former Asylum of Corfu.

As part of the festival, the Department of Audio and Electroacoustic Music Research and Applications Laboratory organise a symposium on the topic of Sound in Motion. The symposium includes a seminar on motion of virtual sound sources in space and a series of concerts in the Ionian Parliament as well as a closing concert in the Polytechno event space. Furthermore, on Thursday, May 28, there will be conference on the topic of "Motion" and an open discussion on the role of theory in artistic creation.

This year, the festival hosts also a conference on the topic of "Arts and Communication", organised by the project "Kostis Palamas" of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens. The conference will take place on Friday, May 29, in Auditorium 1 of the Department of History.

The Festival opens at the Ionian Parliament on Wednesday, May 27 at 19:00.

Admission to all events is free to the public.
