Undergraduate students exhibition
Date and Time: 10/05/2025 (19:00), 10/05/2025-13/05/2025 (17:00-21:00)
Location: Ionian Parliament

The exhibition includes a set of works created by students of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts during the academic year 2024-2025. The title of the exhibition, "καλλιΤεχνώ(ν)" in greek refers both to the focus of the show as well as to its participants. It pays attention to the special character of the specific Department, its emphasis on artistic creation itself as well as on the importance of collective work. Τhe playfulness of the title welcomes various possible readings and interpretations.

The works presented in the space of the old Ionian Parliament were created in the context of undergraduate courses, utilizing different media and covering different thematic areas. Ιnstallations, videos, photographs, sculptures and sound works enter into dialogue and manifest forms of compatibility and coexistence based on plurality and heterogeneity.

Iconography of the Sound

The subject studied in this course is the visualisation of sound. Through the creation of abstract animation works, using 2D animation and graphics software, the connection between auditory and visual stimuli is explored, and visual and auditory forms connect. Sound excerpts by Pole (Stefan Betke) and Satur-nine Markus Acher) have been used as examples for this exercise.
