As is the case of most Greek islands, Corfu can be reached by sea and by air. There are also bus services (KTEL) running daily from Athens, Thessaloniki and other cities (via ferry boarding at Igoumenitsa port).

The International Airport of Corfu, Ioannis Kapodistrias – named after Ioannis Kapodistrias, distinguished Corfiot and European diplomat, and the first governor of the independent Greek state – is located around three kilometres south of Kerkyra town, in the region Kanoni, and just half a kilometre north of Pontikonisi. The airport offers domestic and international flights.
Olympic Airlines and Aegean Airlines, run daily flights from and to the airport of Athens, Eleytherios Venizelos, and the duration of the flight is about 1 hour. There is also an air connection to Thessaloniki, the Ionian islands and Crete 3 or 4 times a week. Ticket prices can be very low, if you make the reservation well in advance. During the high season, Corfu enjoys a strong network of air-connections with many European cities, with direct flights to Italy, Belgium, Germany, Hungary, UK, France and Poland, among others.
BY SEA:
Corfu town is connected with the mainland, with ferry services running throughout the day from Igoumenitsa port. Tickets can be bought at the port before boarding.

Corfu is furthermore connected by ferry to Patras, and there are also connections to the island of Paxoi. There are also sea itineraries to Italy and finally to Sarandë, in neighbouring Albania. The small port of Lefkimmi which is to be found at the southernmost tip of the island on Cape Kavos, offers another ferry service to the mainland.

The intercity buses of Corfu connect Corfu town with every part of the island but also connect Corfu Island with the biggest cities in Greece. There are daily departures/arrivals from/to Athens and Thessaloniki, and all main cities located along those two road axes. Agencies are to be found in Corfu town, Lefkimi (southern part of the island), and in the cities of Larissa, Trikala, Kozani, Thessaloniki and Athens.

The airport is located approximately 3 kilometers south from the centre of the town of Corfu. To reach the center of Corfu from the airport you can use the bus No15. The bus station is right outside the airport.

You can also get a taxi right outside the building of the airport to all areas of the island. The approximate route to the centre of Corfu town costs around €7.00 (+ 1 euro/ luggage).
Accessibility to Port:
The port is adjacent to the town of Corfu (about 2 km distance from Sarroco sq). It can be reached by car and taxi, while you can also use buses No2Β and No15. The bus station is outside the port. On foot it should be around 25 minutes walking.

Accessibility to Long Distance Coach Station (KTEL): Τhe new intercity bus station is located at Lefkimmi National street, no 13 and it is only 900 meters away from Sarroco central square. It should be 11 mins walking distance, while taxi service is available.

The island is linked by two motorways, GR-24 in the northwest and GR-25 in the south.
