COINING UTOPIAS / KINO ŠIŠKA
In a time of cultural contestation and planetary crisis, artists coin utopias as speculative acts of resistance, care, and transformation. This curated program brings together experimental works that confront ideological manipulation, challenge anthropocentric hierarchies, and reimagine the contours of embodiment, ecology, and agency. From hacked biologies to altered landscapes and posthuman desires, the pieces unfold alternative currencies of meaning — where rebellion meets ritual, and futures are shaped not by domination, but by interdependence, imagination, and poetic disruption.

Site Instructions: Starting from Kostanjevica na Krasu, head to the church and cemetery area. From there, follow the macadam (gravel) path northwards, following the signs for "Ruska jama".
Recommended Access: We suggest walking from the cemetery/church car park (link: Google Maps https://maps.app.goo.gl/mJcsX2XCn1acFdCW6 – 1.8km route) through the striking Karst landscape, marked by its post-burn resilience and lush regrowth.
Parking Options:
- Most recommended: at the cemetery/church car park and walk the scenic trail (approx. 1.8 km), or
- Less recommended: at one of the roadside extensions 50–200m before the cave, or
- Earlier along the road from Kostanjevica if needed.
Important to Bring:
- A flashlight (the cave and approach may be dark)
- Sturdy walking shoes
- Water and weather-appropriate clothing
