He was born in Piraeus, Greece, in 1950. He studied Music, Literature, Art History and Semiology in Athens and in Paris. He has studied composition with Y.A.Papaioannou, M. Adamis and I. Xenakis. He holds a Doctorate in Music from the Sorbonne University (Paris I). His compositions have been performed in International Festivals and broadcasted by radio stations in Greece and abroad. He has undertaken commissions by many Greek and foreign organisations (Greek Radio, Athenaeum, Music Megaro of Athens, Patras Festival, Ionian University, Union of Greek Composers, Leventi Foundation, Hunsavium Radio, Camerata de Versailles, Festival of Bourges, French Government, etc.). He has published articles in professional journals and encyclopaedias (in Franc Greek, German, English, French and Russian) and has taught as guest professor at various Institutes, Universities, Conservatories and other organisations. He served as the Head of the Music Department of Ionian University.
