As part of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Department of Audio & Visual Arts of the Ionian University and the 17th Audiovisual Arts Festival, the following student photography exhibition is taking place at the Old Fortress of Corfu: "Family Relations": An exhibition by Antonis Pappos that includes selected images from the photo albums of Georgoudakis and Pelster families.

The 17th Audiovisual Arts Festival (AVfest) celebrates this year the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Department of Audio & Visual Arts of the Ionian University highlighting the Department's unique contribution to the development of audiovisual arts. The promotional video of the 17th AVfest refers to the wind of culture blowing across the city of Corfu during the days of the festival, giving color and creative breath to the corners of the city.

AV-school, the series of seminars and workshops of the Audiovisual Arts Festival, will be held at the Public Central Historic Library at Corfu from May 28th to May 31st, 2024. AV-School 2024 theme is “Impressions” and it celebrates the Department of Audio and Visual Arts’ 20th Anniversary. The program is open to all those interested in contemporary art issues and new technologies, focusing this year in topics related with film, performance art, radio, gaming and art research. Registration for both workshops and seminars is free, and attendees will receive a certificate of attendance.

The 17th Audiovisual Arts Festival (AVfest) joyously celebrates its genetic kinship with the Department of Audio & Visual Arts of the Ionian University in its 20th Anniversary year. The festival has become a symbol of creativity, innovation, and collaboration within the contemporary arts landscape, evolving into a dynamic force that reflects the dedication of its faculty, administrative staff, students, alumni, and esteemed guest collaborators.

The Steering Committee of the 17h Audiovisual Arts Festival (#AVfest2024) of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, in collaboration with the ERHMEE Lab - Department of Music Studies, of the Ionian University invites students and anyone who is interested in joining the volunteers’ team. The Department of Audio & Visual Arts of the Ionian University organizes the 6th International Conference Digital Culture & AudioVisual Challenges (DCAC-2024) which will be held in hybrid way - online and in the Ionian Academy in Corfu (Greece), on Friday 24 May and on Saturday 25 May 2024. Also on 26-27 May, 2024 the joint conference "Art in the Age of Artificial Intelligence" will take place. AV-School is thrilled to announce its upcoming workshops and seminars cycle, scheduled to take place from May 28th to 31st, 2024, in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts. Curated by Associate Professor Dalila Honorato, Assistant Professor Iakovos Panagopoulos, and Laboratory Teaching Staff member Varvara Garneli, this educational initiative is an integral part of the Audiovisual Arts Festival.

The fifth Ionian Contemporary Animation Festival ICONA 2023, organized and promoted by the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University had exceeded our expectations with more than 1.440 submissions.

The activities of the 16th Audiovisual Arts Festival of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts in collaboration with the Electroacoustic Music Research and Applications Lab (EPHMEE) of the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University, were successfully completed with great participation of the university community and the local community of Corfu.

AKOYSMATA 2023 include electroacoustic music concerts at the Ionian Academy on Saturday 27 and Monday 29 May and live electronic music concerts at POLYTECHNO on Sunday 28 and Tuesday 30 May.
