Welcome to the 3rd International Conference on Digital Culture & AudioVisual Challenges. This year the International Conference on Digital Culture & AudioVisual Challenges will be held online. It is hosted by the Department of Audio & Visual Arts (Ionian University) and depending on the pandemic circumstances there will be an option for physical presence. Conference dates: 28-29 May, 2021.

AV-school, the series of seminars and workshops of the Audiovisual Arts Festival, is taking place online this year from 24 to 27 May 2021. Among others, instructors at AV-school 2021 are the guest-artists: Filippos Tsitsopoulos, Barbara Douka, Adam Zaretsky and Marta de Menezes.

Postponement of Erasmus+ Incoming and Outgoing Mobilities - students and staff- for Spring Semester 2020-21 due to COVID-19

On Monday 08/02/2021 and Friday 12/02/2021 Dr. Iakovos Panagopoulos is invited by Prof. Erik Knudsen and University of Central Lancashire to run a workshop with Prof. Knudsen organized by the Institute of Citizenship Society and Change of University of Central Lancashire. The title of the workshop is "Participatory Online Stakeholder Engagement-POSE and aims at training the U.C.Lan. teaching stuff.

Open Art announces the start of the 2nd course in the Spring Semester. The program is entirely distance learning and courses are delivered through modern and asynchronous educational technology.

In April 2020, artists Robertina Šebjanič, Louise Mackenzie, Karolina Żyniewicz and Isabel Burr Raty were invited by Dalila Honorato (Associate Professor, Dept. of Audio & Visual Arts)  to develop research on the theme of “Staying in Touch: post-coronavirus art curating” as part of the collaborative digital art residency Braiding Friction. The article entitled "Staying in Touch: case study of artistic research during the COVID-19 lock-down" is published in the e-journal "Artnodes: Journal on Art, Science and Technology, No 27 (2021). FACTT 20/21: Trans-disciplinary & Trans-national Festival of Art & Science opens on January 28 2021, at 8.30 PM (GMT) and will be exhibited online during 2021 with different events to be announced taking place throughout the year across continents.

The Museum of the Ionian University, with Director the Associate Professor of the Department of Archives, Library Science and Museology Stavros Vlizos, and the Interactive Arts Laboratory (InArts) of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, with Director the Associate Professor Andreas Giannakoulopoulos, organize online tribute for the eighty years since the death of JAMES JOYCE.
