The artwork "A Creator", with the theme "Memory Gap", is a photograph of an assembled piece that explores the fragmented nature of memory and the transformation of everyday objects into narrative and functional elements. The central figure is composed of objects such as white gloves, plastic bags, a lightbulb, a battery, paper sheets, and a repurposed drawing board bearing traces of acrylic and charcoal. The piece was processed in Photoshop, where adjustments in contrast, color, and dimensions were made to enhance its aesthetic impact.
While it does not directly draw inspiration from theoretical works, "A Creator" presents conceptual similarities to Paul Klee’s Angelus Novus. Klee’s piece symbolizes progress and history, gazing toward the past while being propelled into the future. Similarly, the repurposed board in "A Creator" captures traces of past creative processes, while the lightbulb represents the birth of new ideas.
The ten objects in the composition are arranged to visualize fragmented memory, where fragments of recollections coexist with forgotten details. The creation of the piece was spontaneous, guided by accumulated experience and instinctive decision-making. At the same time, the residual marks of acrylic and charcoal function as a metaphor for past efforts, highlighting the relationship between memory and creation.
