The artwork explores the concept of memory, focusing on the inevitable fading of memories and their disposal over time. By using a trash can as a storage space, its traditional function is reversed, giving it new symbolic meaning. The objects inside the trash can are personal and familiar, representing forgotten memories. A strong symbol in the artwork is the use of children's toys, which are painted gray, removing their bright colors. This choice represents the blurry and faded memories of childhood—a time that many try to hold onto, but eventually, it slips away with time. Forgetting is part of human nature. Another important element is the reflection on the lid of the trash can, which acts like a mirror. This allows the viewer to see either the objects inside or their own face. This interactive aspect encourages the viewer to reflect on their own lost memories.
