The animated music video for the song "Aijou Rettousei"(アイ情声等生) by producer Kairiki Bear(かいりきベア) is an exploration of the "yandere" love that overwhelms the protagonists, Ame and Shin. Yandere is a character archetype that often appears in anime, manga and Japanese video games, it refers to characters who are driven to extreme, often violent, lengths due to obsessive romantic feelings. Shin with a seemingly perfect exterior that he shows to the rest of the world, hides a dangerous obsession and is fully devoted to Ame. Ame on the other hand is socially withdrawn and only dabbles in art, and while she initially dislikes Shin, she develops an equally strong obsession after he saves her from an attack one night. The animation captures the eerie beauty and intensity of the characters' love, using visual metaphors to convey the dark tones of their mania. As they hide their feelings, the psychological intricacies of their dynamic unfold, shedding light on the fine line between devotion and obsession.
