Myths are living stories that grow with time, change, adapt, but continue being a source for thought, inspiration and creativity. The interactive audiovisual theatrical performance INRIRI questions the adaptation of an archetypal myth at a time of many dimensions and levels with elements from physical theater and embedded interactive technology in the performing space.

Interreg V-A Greece-Italy Programme launches an amateur video competition to celebrate the European Cooperation Day! Participants will have to make a very short video (maximum duration: 40 seconds) responding very briefly to the question: Why EUROPE IS YOU?? The Greece – Puglia Experience Screenwriting Workshop Participants Evaluation Results have been announced. According to the rule concerning the geographical origin of the participants (5 from Apulia region, 5 from Ionian Islands, Western Greece, Epirus and 5 from Other regions) the committee has selected 2 participants from Greek regions, since only 2 over 6 candidates scored more than 50%.

The Embassy of Mexico send the call for entries to participate in the International Environmental Short Film Festival ECOFILM, which will take place in Mexico from September 29th to October 6th 2019. The deadline for submissions is June 27th 2019.

The Info Day in the framework of the CIAK ("Common Initiatives to AcKnowledge and Valorize the Tourism Potential of the Program Area through Cinema") project was held with great success on Wednesday, February 13, 2019. In the context of the event, the project actions that are being implemented were presented in detail, with emphasis on the Memory Greece – Italy Call, which aims to finance 10 short film productions, the script-writing seminar, scheduled for three weeks in Corfu, Ioannina and Bari, and the forthcoming animation festival to be held in the city of Corfu.

Inauguration of the digital exhibition on the occasion of the final meeting of "BYZART - Byzantine Art and Archaeology on Europeana" project will be held on the 15th of February 2019 at 10.30 a.m.

The Ionian University, Project Partner of CIAK Project, will organize an Info Day in Corfu on Wednesday 13 February 2019, at 17:00 at Ionian University premises (I. Τhe "THE OX" of the graduate of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts and doctoral candidate, George Nikopoulos, is the only Greek production that competes for the Emile Awards 2018 / European Animation Awards in the category of "Best Soundtrack in a Feature Film". The soundtrack is composed by Dimitra Trypani, Assistant Professor of the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University.

The final program of the Third Interdisciplinary Conference "Taboo-Transgression-Transcendence in Art & Science" has just been released. The conference is hosted by the Centro de Cultura Digital (CCD) on November 11th and by the Instituto de Investigaciones Filosoficas at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (IIFs-UNAM) on November 12-13th.

The third international interdisciplinary conference "Taboo - Transgression - Transcendence in Art & Science" will take place in 11-13 November 2018 in Mexico City, hosted by the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and the Centro de Cultura Digital. Submissions are welcome from all art and research fields and cutting-edge technology in art research. Deadline for submitting abstracts and short CV: May 12th, 2018.

On September 12-13, 2018, the project “Common Initiatives to AcKnowledge and valorize tourism potential of the programme area through cinema” (CIAK) was launched through its kickoff meeting that took place in Bari, Italy. CIAK is funded by the Interreg V-A Greece-Italy Programme 2014-2020 and the kickoff meeting was hosted by the lead partner, the Foundation Apulia Film Commission. Ionian University is a CIAK project partner, represented by the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, being responsible for organizing and delivering the planned educational activities starting in 2019, as well as theme-specific festivals.

The ebook with the proceedings of the interdisciplinary conference Taboo-Transgression-Transcendence in Art & Science 2017 was published by the Ionian University - Department of Audio & Visual Arts in September 2018.
