Assistant Professor of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University and founding member of InArts Lab Dalila Honorato participates in the exhibition "Com(posto)" gathering the works of the year of 2019’s activities at Cultivamos Cultura in Portugal.

The Department of Audio and Visual Arts hosts the multimedia electronic opera performance project by Miguel and Paula Azguime, "Salt Itinerary", on February 12th 2020, 21:00, at Ionian Academy, Corfu, as part of its cooperation within the EASTN-DC project with scientific coordinator for the Ionian University Mr Ioannis Zannos, Professor of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts.

Harvard’s Center for Hellenic Studies (CHS) is pleased to offer two fellowships to Greek Universities’ junior faculty members (Adjunct Lecturers, Lecturers or Assistant Professors) and Scientific and Laboratory Teaching Staff who hold a PhD (“ΕΔΙΠ” and "ΕΕΠ"), from Schools of Humanities and Social Sciences, in order to join the Harvard Summer Program in Nafplio and Thessaloniki, Greece.

The artist Francesco Kiàis, collaborator of InArts Lab, has been invited at the VENICE INTERNATIONAL PERFORMANCE ART WEEK (Venice, 15-18/1/2020). The Department of Audio and Visual Arts and the Interactive Arts Lab (InArts) will collaborate as cultural partners.

Ionian University / Dept. of Audio & Visual Arts was selected by the Greek Diaspora Fellowship Program (GDFP) to host an scholar from Canada to work with on a collaborative project on Game Audio, Sound Design and Augmented Reality Audio. Professor Andreas Floros will lead the project, together with Prof. Bill Kapralos, a Fellow from University of Ontario Institute of Technology, Ontario, Canada.

The PhD Candidate of the Dept. of Audio and Visual Arts, Luc Messinezis, participates at the minus20degree Festival of Art & Architecture in Flachau, Austria with his work Amalgama (23 - 25 January 2020).

The Ionian University incorporates now a University Museum, an institution with a history in Europe since the 17th century. University museums belong to a special category of museums that are hosted in the premises of academic institutions and aim at promoting knowledge and familiarizing the academic community with museum spaces.

The Ionian University, Project Partner of CIAK Project, organized the third and last weekly part of the Screenwriting Workshop in Corfu, Greece on November 26 – December 1, 2019 at the Audiovisual Arts department premises. During the three weekly workshop sessions (hosted in Ioannina, Bari and Corfu respectively), 15 ascendant cinema screenwriters from all over the world attended intensive courses and gained personal supervision towards the development of their personal scenario.

The first Ionian Contemporary Animation Festival ICONA 2019, organized by the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University within the framework of the CIAK Interreg program under the scientific supervision of Assistant Professor Michalis Panagopoulos, had a great participation with almost 1.000 submissions of movies. Although competition was fierce, the committee's work was successfully completed with a selection of 135 films - 72 short films and 63 student films – from 48 countries.

The ebook with the proceedings of the interdisciplinary conference Taboo-Transgression-Transcendence in Art & Science 2018 was published by the Ionian University - Department of Audio & Visual Arts in November 2019. This digital publication includes 20 contributions, in English, proposed and accepted by the scientific and artistic committee of TTT2018. Edited by Dalila Honorato, María Antonia González Valerio, Marta de Menezes and Andreas Giannakoulopoulos, this is the second and main core of the presentations of TTT2018.

The aim of the first Ionian Contemporary Animation Festival ICONA 2019, which is organized by the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University (within the framework of the CIAK Intereg program) is to present the best from the field of animation from all around the world. The festival also aims to preserve and help develop the cultural heritage of short animated film, contribute to creation of new films, provide ground for potential international co-productions and encourage dialogue between professionals, filmmakers and the public.

Myths are living stories that grow with time, change, adapt, but continue being a source for thought, inspiration and creativity. The interactive audiovisual theatrical performance INRIRI questions the adaptation of an archetypal myth at a time of many dimensions and levels with elements from physical theater and embedded interactive technology in the performing space.

Interreg V-A Greece-Italy Programme launches an amateur video competition to celebrate the European Cooperation Day! Participants will have to make a very short video (maximum duration: 40 seconds) responding very briefly to the question: Why EUROPE IS YOU?? (how Europe benefits you), which is the slogan of the EC DAY 2019 campaign. The deadline is 30 June 2019.

The Region of Ionian Islands, Project Partner of CIAK Project (“Common Initiatives to AcKnowledge and valorize tourism potential of the programme area through cinema”), will organize an Info Day in Corfu on Tuesday 4 June 2019, at 12:00 at the Boardroom of Region of Corfu (Sp.
