The performance Shadow’s Work—inspired by Carl G. Jung’s theory of the personal Shadow (analytical psychology)—explores the boundaries of the self; the abyss of our soul. Does our existence lie between the social persona and our repressed aspects? How does mental illness influence self-perception? The aim of the performance is to uncover the hidden “selves” that lie like precious gems in the cave of the unconscious. Placed in absolute darkness, I am called to confront my own chaos. The performance requires interaction with the audience and is enveloped in a soundscape.
