The performance "Closed Cases" addresses censorship and oppression in society, focusing on the questioning of freedom of speech and thought. Through symbols and abstract expressions, it highlights the consequences of misinformation, propaganda, and social polarization on human relationships and collective consciousness. Inspired by the works of Marina Abramović and Kurt Schwitters, the performance combines movement, speech, and silence to provoke reflection and emotional connection with the audience. With an emphasis on physical expressiveness and vocal power, the work invites the viewers to actively engage in the process of interpretation, promoting a dialogue about the need for social change and freedom of expression. The creator and performer of the work is Alexandros Zarakovitis, with artistic guidance and supervision by Christina Mitsani. The work was inspired by Marios Pontikas' piece "Internal News", while Marina Abramović's works "Rhythm 0" and "The Artist is Present" served as artistic influences. The use of silence as an expressive medium is inspired by John Cage, while the theoretical influence of Jerzy Grotowski promotes the ideas found in "Towards a Poor Theatre". Additionally, the work draws elements from Kurt Schwitters' "Ursonate".
