The project "Liquid" is a mixed media installation that explores the fluidity of memory. The concept originates from the observation of an individual gradually losing control over their recollections, while simultaneously retaining fragments of the past through trauma and recurring marks. This process served as the starting point for connecting personal experience with material reality, transferring individual perception into an artistic expression. The work unfolds as a personal narrative within the collective notions of memory and decay, investigating how the body, as a repository of lived experiences, carries memories that shift, erode, and reconstruct over time.
The installation consists of analog projection devices, creating compositions of fragmented body parts, neurons, and cellular structures. Through their analog function, the texture and materiality of the images are emphasized, highlighting the tangible nature of memory. The visual compositions, made up of slides featuring neurological imaging and bodily details, underline the biological foundation of the memory process, while also symbolizing its erosion and reconstruction. Similarly, water serves as a metaphor for the flow of memory, while the domed glass structures underscore the fragile nature of human consciousness. In this way, the audience is invited to interact visually with the projections, experiencing the erosion and reconstruction of memories through the instability of materials.
