In the context of the course 'Interactive environments and installations' of the postgraduate programme 'Audiovisual arts in the digital age', the students were asked to create an artistic project on the theme of the schoolroom. The projects aim to develop a dialogue on the topic of education through its tools as encountered in Greek society. The tools are considered to be both the educational space of the school and the classroom and the archetypal objects used for teaching, such as the desk, the blackboard, the chalk, the bell, etc. Interaction is not only explored in technological means but extends to conceptual mechanisms of meaning-making through the conversation of the works with the educational community of the school. Concepts such as knowledge, education, training, but also dispositions such as boredom, frustration, play, etc. become research objects for the performance of an art practice project.
The works will be exhibited at the 1st EPAL Corfu from Sunday 14 to Tuesday 16 May. The action was implemented with the cooperation of the Director Vaso Monastirioti.
On Monday 15 May, 11:00-13:00, the works will be presented by the creators to the student community of the 1st EPAL Corfu and will be followed by a discussion with the educational community of the school hosting the action.
