On a Sunday morning in the northern suburbs of Athens, the breakfast of a wealthy family is disrupted by the news that the eldest daughter of the Gerakari family brings. Entangled in a "forbidden" love affair, Stella is forced to confront the ideologies and rules of her family. In the vigilant shadow and ferocious severity of her father, she is called upon to stand up for her love. "Sleep, Stella" by Yannis Economides reflects on the reality which often lies hidden in the shadows and is almost always accompanied by all kinds of violence. The Student Theater Group AVARTS Theater by presenting the play "Sleep, Stella" wants to illustrate that old ideologies have not been forgotten as long as they are based on wealth, interests and the fake happiness that they offer. Love represents still the new, the change and the future. But love is not always invincible in battle. So, once again, the past is killing the future, not allowing progress to be made and allowing hope, as always, to die last.
