Short Description: The central idea of this workshop is to provide students the potential of a re-consideration of the senses in the city as well as their creative intersections with contemporary art practice. This workshop brings together the main areas of the Department of AudioVisual Arts (visual, audio, technology, theory) with the concepts of psychogeography, senses, maps and city. Therefore, it aims to provide ideas and intermedia aspects as motivational platform of students’ art practice – by “re-tuning” and re-considering the importance of the senses in relation to different media forms.

Short Description: The workshop will elaborate in the use of basic tools and environments for live coding and net-working. These include the demonstration of some examples in Just In Time Library, (JITLib), a library for interactive programming in SuperCollider, and Utopia, an environment for collaborative coding through an ad-hoc network. After the brief introduction to the above the participants will have a ‘hands on’ practise with the aforementioned tools. The goal of the workshop is to give a fun-damental idea of the basic examples and tools in order these to be used by the participants in a col-laborative way.
Participants must have installed a latest stable version of SuperCollider programming environment in their computer.

Workshop: SuperCollider + IanniX with OSC

The department of Audio and Visual Arts of Ionian University in collaboration with Omer Chatziserif, within the framework of the 8th Audiovisual Arts festival, is presenting the workshop `SuperCollider + IanniX with OSC`.
SuperCollider - one of the most powerful enviroment for algorithmic music composition - is a real-time and object-oriented programing language for audio synthesis and processing. IanniX is a graphical open source sequencer, based on Iannis Xenakis works, for digital art.
During the 3-hour workshop we will create digital synthesizers (SynthDef), which will be controlled with the sequences created in IanniX, through OSC messages.
