A new international and transdisciplinary Master of Arts programme on the topic of Art, Science and Health will be showcased, tested and evaluated during a one-week Pilot Course held online in English language for a maximum of 40 participants, from Monday, November 7, to Friday, November 11, 2022, every day from 5.00 p.m. CET. Τhe Department of Audio & Visual Arts of the Ionian University organizes the 4th International Conference on Digital Culture & AudioVisual Challenges (DCAC-2022) which will be held in hybrid way -online and in Corfu (Greece)- on May 13th and 14th, 2022.

The Animation Festival ICONA 2021, which took place from the 2nd to the 5th of December 2021, exclusively online, by the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University, was successfully completed.

Audio & Visual Arts of the Ionian University, participates as a speaker with Dr. Olga Majcen Linn in the theme "Witchcraft-Science-Health".

On Thursday, November 25th, 10:00am (classroom 11), as part of the course "THE906-Practice of Exhibition Design", we will have the pleasure to have Dr Adam Zaretsky with us on a guest lecture entitled “IT'S ALIVE! Understanding bio-art: art and biology exhibited”.

The aim of the Ionian Contemporary Animation Festival ICONA 2021 is to present the best from the field of animation from all around the world. The festival also aims to preserve and help develop the cultural heritage of animated film, contribute to creation of new films, provide ground for potential international co-productions and encourages dialogue between professionals, filmmakers and the public. Welcome to the 3rd International Conference on Digital Culture & AudioVisual Challenges. This year the International Conference on Digital Culture & AudioVisual Challenges will be held online. It is hosted by the Department of Audio & Visual Arts (Ionian University) and depending on the pandemic circumstances there will be an option for physical presence. Conference dates: 28-29 May, 2021.

The program of the 14th Audiovisual Arts Festival, which will take place on 13-31 May, covers, as every year, a wide range of artistic, educational and scientific activities.

FACTT 20/21: Trans-disciplinary & Trans-national Festival of Art & Science opens on January 28 2021, at 8.30 PM (GMT) and will be exhibited online during 2021 with different events to be announced taking place throughout the year across continents.

The Museum of the Ionian University, with Director the Associate Professor of the Department of Archives, Library Science and Museology Stavros Vlizos, and the Interactive Arts Laboratory (InArts) of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, with Director the Associate Professor Andreas Giannakoulopoulos, organize online tribute for the eighty years since the death of JAMES JOYCE. The artist and director Vouvoula Skoura curates the tribute, with the co-operation of the Assistant Professor of Art History in the Department of Audio and Visual Arts Elena Hamalidi. On Thursday, December 31st, 2020 and Friday, January 1st, 2021, the streaming of the projection mapping and the in situ performance which was created within the framework of the celebration by the Region of Ionian Islands for the 200th anniversary of the 1821 revolution took place. The artwork that will be projected, entitled "Sound and Light 1821 - 2021", was designed and implemented entirely by the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University.

Τhe fourth international conference "Taboo - Transgression - Transcendence in Art & Science" took place November 26–28, 2020, exclusively online as TTT2020 Vienna/Online, an umbilical cord between what would be and what it is. The event was an overall reconstruction of its original organization as a face to face experience at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, Austria.

Professors I. Zannos, A. Loufopoulos, A. Floros and T. Valianatos partticipate via their works and research presentations at the fesival 'InSonic 2020', which is held online employing new broadcast technologies. The festival explores new formats and artistic practises, and this year is hosted by the ZKM-Herz Lab, in cooperation with EASTN-DC European Art-Science-Technology Network for Digital Creativity).

On Monday, December 7th, 2020, at 17:00 CET, an Informational Event (Promotional Event) will be held within the framework of the CIAK project ("Common Initiatives to AcKnowledge and valorize tourism potential of the programme area through cinema"). This informational event, which will take place online https://ciak.inarts.eu/, will host a detailed presentation of the already completed actions within the framework of the project.

Assistant Professor Angeliki Malakasioti participated in the Tulane Philosophy Club organized in Tulane University, School of Liberal Arts, Department of Philosophy, New Orleans, presenting her research on the theme: "Melancholia: Sadness and Beauty in Video Game Environments", on October 21st, 2020.
