Τhe fourth international conference "Taboo - Transgression - Transcendence in Art & Science" took place November 26–28, 2020, exclusively online as TTT2020 Vienna/Online, an umbilical cord between what would be and what it is. The event was an overall reconstruction of its original organization as a face to face experience at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, Austria.

Professors I. Zannos, A. Loufopoulos, A. Floros and T. Valianatos partticipate via their works and research presentations at the fesival 'InSonic 2020', which is held online employing new broadcast technologies. The festival explores new formats and artistic practises, and this year is hosted by the ZKM-Herz Lab, in cooperation with EASTN-DC European Art-Science-Technology Network for Digital Creativity).

On Monday, December 7th, 2020, at 17:00 CET, an Informational Event (Promotional Event) will be held within the framework of the CIAK project ("Common Initiatives to AcKnowledge and valorize tourism potential of the programme area through cinema"). The 4th World Congress on Geriatrics and Neurodegenerative Diseases Research “GeNeDis 2020″ entitled ‘Health in Aging and Mental Wellness in the new digital era’ will be held exclusively online, 8th to 11th October, 2020. GeNeDis 2020 is oranized by the Bioinformatics and Human Electrophysiology Lab (BIHELab) of the Department of Informatics, Ionian University, under the patronage of H.E. the President of the Hellenic Republic Mrs Katerina Sakellaropoulou.

The aim of the Ionian Contemporary Animation Festival ICONA 2020 is to present the best from the field of animation from all around the world. The festival also aims to preserve and help develop the cultural heritage of animated film, contribute to creation of new films, provide ground for potential international co-productions and encourages dialogue between professionals, filmmakers and the public.

GOLEM - To be generative in solidarity rather than creative in solitude is an online collective performance event, curated by the collaborator of InArts Francesco Kiais. The virtual exhibition space will open to the public on June 5, with the vernissage at 18.00 GMT+3, which will be a presentation of the guests’ of honor participating artworks. On June the 6th and 7th the virtual exhibition space will be open to the public where an archive of the participating works will be presented.

Considering the ongoing spread of SARS-CoV-2 (Coronavirus) all over the World and under these unforeseen circumstances, the Organizing Committee of the DCAC 2020 is forced to announce the cancellation of the conference.

The Department of Audio and Visual Arts hosts the multimedia electronic opera performance project by Miguel and Paula Azguime, "Salt Itinerary", on February 12th 2020, 21:00, at Ionian Academy, Corfu, as part of its cooperation within the EASTN-DC project with scientific coordinator for the Ionian University Mr Ioannis Zannos, Professor of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts.

The Laboratory of Electroacoustic Music Research & Applications [EPHMEE] and the Music Education and Music Psychology Group of the Music Department of Ionian University lend their ears to the Sound Environment and propose a series of educational, research and artistic activities, the last week of June, dedicated to the Soundscape we live in.

The Info Day in the framework of the CIAK ("Common Initiatives to AcKnowledge and Valorize the Tourism Potential of the Program Area through Cinema") project was held with great success on Wednesday, February 13, 2019. In the context of the event, the project actions that are being implemented were presented in detail, with emphasis on the Memory Greece – Italy Call, which aims to finance 10 short film productions, the script-writing seminar, scheduled for three weeks in Corfu, Ioannina and Bari, and the forthcoming animation festival to be held in the city of Corfu.

Inauguration of the digital exhibition on the occasion of the final meeting of "BYZART - Byzantine Art and Archaeology on Europeana" project will be held on the 15th of February 2019 at 10.30 a.m.

The Ionian University, Project Partner of CIAK Project, will organize an Info Day in Corfu on Wednesday 13 February 2019, at 17:00 at Ionian University premises (I. Theotoki 72, Corfu), in order to present the project and its future activities (Greece-Italy Memory Call, an international training seminar for editing and script processing). Special guest of this event the worldwide famous, award-winning director Alexander Avranas who will talk about the contemporary situation in the field of movie direction in Greece. Entrance is free to the public.

The final program of the Third Interdisciplinary Conference "Taboo-Transgression-Transcendence in Art & Science" has just been released. The conference is hosted by the Centro de Cultura Digital (CCD) on November 11th and by the Instituto de Investigaciones Filosoficas at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (IIFs-UNAM) on November 12-13th.

The third international interdisciplinary conference "Taboo - Transgression - Transcendence in Art & Science" will take place in 11-13 November 2018 in Mexico City, hosted by the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and the Centro de Cultura Digital. Submissions are welcome from all art and research fields and cutting-edge technology in art research. Deadline for submitting abstracts and short CV: May 12th, 2018.

Accomplished visual artist and filmmaker of Eija-Liisa Ahtila was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, in a ceremony that took place in the Ionian Academy on Tuesday, June 5th, 2018.
