Vardo, the multi-award-winning short film by Kostas Kaloudiotis, unfolds in a desolate location, inside a caravan, under the relentless Balkan sun. Through imagery and silence, the film narrates an unpredictable relationship in a poetic tale about the unexpected meeting of two worlds.
Thanasis Epitedios, a PhD candidate at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, was responsible for Sound Design, Foley, and Mixing. In addition to recorded material, the soundscapes were created using algorithmic sound models of insects, enriching the pre-recorded audio. The research objective of this application was to study the acceptance of the modeled sounds produced as part of his doctoral dissertation and to integrate them into a cohesive artistic work.
