"Dedalus"
Composition with ceramic, wax, and linen.
The artwork titled "Dedalus" is an attempt to depict the grief of a father, specifically that of Dedalus. It is primarily a sculptural composition incorporating mixed materials. The piece aims to create a sculptural space that conveys the atmosphere and mythological framework of the narrative. Numerous references to the myth were incorporated. A combination of durable materials, such as ceramics, was used alongside fragile and ephemeral materials, such as linen and wax. The materials, primarily organic, have the ability to change form depending on weather conditions (e.g., wax), allowing the viewer to perceive the artwork as actively participating in the natural decay brought about by time.
