A prerequisite for there to be a sense of presence of an object or a person in space is its tangibility. Without this material connotation, it would probably be perceived as something fake. However, with the advent of interaction, the immediate sense of touch is replaced by the notion of presence which takes an active role, often with little physical contact. In this way, the sense of touch loses its material substance and becomes a cognitive tool.
The model "Parousies" [Presences] explores this transformation by proposing a space where a nail - a symbol of minimal intervention - interferes with its environment with a subtle touch. This distorted situation reflects existing conditions of automation and raises questions about the future utility of touch in an environment where the experience of active presence continues to evolve without necessarily replacing the need for tactile feedback.
