Camera Illusion is an interactive digital artwork created through programming, using the computer's camera as a gateway to an alternative reality. In moments of silence, the camera displays a stable, unaffected image, allowing the viewer to see themselves exactly as they are a true reflection of reality. The artwork explores the concept of reality distortion through the viewer’s interaction with sound. Silence preserves reality in its purest form, while sound disrupts it, raising questions about whether the image we perceive is ever truly stable. Camera Illusion functions as a digital mirror that does not merely capture reality but is influenced and transformed by its environment.
However, when sound enters the system, the image begins to shift. Each auditory stimulus triggers distortions, glitch effects, and mirror reflections, creating an unstable, fluid environment where reality is constantly reshaped.
