Fani Arapi
The work entitled Not a robot is an interactive sound sculpture. The robotic vacuum cleaner that forms the basis of the sculpture, which performs random paths in space. Its uncharted movement when it encounters an obstacle is the trigger for the production of random recorded monologues, which resonate through a loudspeaker. Combining elements such as satire and non-linear verbal narrative, the work aims to flesh out its automated nature, and raise questions around the importance of voluntary action.
