The “Shadow Code” is a digital interactive installation on the statelessness subject matter concerning the socially invisible people.
On this, we are venturing “a meeting” with them. A symbolic co-existence configuration under reversed terms. Thus, they take the social lead and we become the shadows.
With audio-visual material use, they are observed narrating their own personal Odyssey, so as to acquire citizenship in order to claim what we take for granted. We are introduced to their own environment, where they form actual powerful images constituting what they lack, i.e. living space in actual life. Within this frame, we «the viewers» are taking the role of the passer-by, sitting on the shadowy sidelines.
With the use of audio-visual media (video-photographs) a composition of images is being presented over the subject of the symbolic role inversion: Invisible –shadowy – Viewer and visible – present – Stateless Person.
