Based on a funeral psalm, the work “Fight with the Chatter”, combining audiovisual media with emphasis on sound accompanied by animation, is an overview of the struggle through life addressing its vanity and inevitable end. The subjects of the narrative are the Voice, the Chatter and the Bird. The Voice, expressed though improvised sounds, is a human individual in a state of fight for survival in life and acceptance of its temporality. The Chatter, the psalm, inspired by Heidegger’s theory, represents the endless chatter of society that suffocates individuality. On the outside, the Bird, an otherworldly presence with the role of the witness, records the ongoing fight.
The aim is, through sound, to experiment with and reflect upon the loneliness of existence, religious symbols and socio-cultural structures, as well as the meaning of the struggle through life and how death exists within it.
