This work started before the elaboration of the master's degree on the occasion of an exhibition of three portraits in the windows of OTE in Thessaloniki. The passers-by who talked in a way, with the three portraits, wrote notes of what they would say to the portraits and what the portraits would tell them. When I read the notes I entered the production process. I also recorded their conversation, their voices to and from the thread portraits. The thread in the present work was transformed into a cable. The oral speech of passers-by can be heard by wearing the headphones and can be read in slowly made embroidered phrases. Their written words cannot be read in the interactive video you play, by touching a pair of scissors and a needle. Audio records of telephones testify to another aspect of public communication. The audio files of each ring are small sentences that follow one another and so on. But these sentences do not form a meaning, a unity. In the end they say nothing. The concrete letters in vertical writing, without a single word or sentence to understand, are a delusion of error without the possibility of automatic correction given by the computer. Finally, a video with cardboard boxes resembles someone who is physically absent and walks in search. An intention to express my anxiety around concepts such as communication, work, the pace of everyday life of an era that is becoming more and more digital with handmade & digital studies… maybe because, by hand I learned to think.
