Animation based on Italian Neorealism. Here, similarly to the films of the movement, no special emphasis is given to the plot, but to the exploration of the environment. The boy on the bike is inspired by the strong presence of little boys in the films of the movement, while the gray tones reflect the pessimism of the time. The movies mentioned are: Bicycle Thieves (Vittorio De Sica, 1949), Rome, Open City (Roberto Rossellini, 1945), Umberto D. (Vittorio De Sica, 1952) and Germany Year Zero (Roberto Rossellini, 1948).
