What kind of sacrifice can one make for the loved ones? And what kind of sacrifice can a chicken make? Can an animated film behave or influence the way the plot works? How much yellow can one put in a movie? Is there logic in sacrifice? Does love feed death? La Soupe is a seemingly simple animation film with lots of questions and a few vegetables. "A farmer has two chickens. When one gets sick he kills the healthy chicken to make a soup for the sick." The film seeks to reverse our perceptions of priorities and scratches the fine line between love, life and nonsense. The farmer's paradoxical practice depicts a paranoid relationship between power and the lives of others. On the other hand, the relationship that the cinematic medium itself may have with the scenario is examined. The film is the soup. From its components - shots, drawings and frames - other scenes are made. With experimental practices in the animation creation, the cinematic medium itself seems to interfere storytelling to provide solutions to the advantage and disadvantage of the characters. The director often chooses metaphors through animal behaviours. In this film he comments on the role of the human - "superhuman" with the "smart" solutions for the "good" of others. At the same time, he adopts the role of the "authoritarian", the operator of the cinematic medium who in this capacity makes decisions for the characters and the plot of the film.
