Dimitris Savva
Once there was a forest I is a composition based on a simultaneous recording of a dance with live-electronics performance from different spatial perspectives. The performance was developed during a 5-month residency programme between the dancer and choreographer Konstantina Skalionta and myself as a composer and live-electronics music performer. The performance abstractly explores subjects of ecological destruction in relation to the anthropocene. The composition aims to create an acousmatic experience of the performance by creating spatial perspectives of the activity and the sound-material that is not possible to be experienced in their live presentation.
