"Auriphone is a landscape of contrasting qualities and values. Passing from vast to small, distant to intimate, and disorganisation to organisation, Auriphone seeks a final way out of dissent. Consonant and dissonant harmonic relationships and transfers from composure to disturbance seem to enhance the disagreement. Through all these contrasting values Auriphone represents internal processes of the spirit. Auriphone is an amplification of the soul. The sound material is based on recordings of cymbals and human utterances, and synthesised sounds have also been used. A variety of techniques, including sound convolution, cross-synthesis, granular synthesis and combination filtering provided the final sounds used in the composition."
