"The central idea for the creation of this sound piece was to create a sonic atmosphere of the sea, an element that is close to us but unknown to us to the greatest extent of its existence. As most of the time we only look at its surface, without taking into account its width and the richness that lies within it.
Having grown up in a place with the sea, I am always interested in observing it, how it moves and what sounds it makes when it collides with rocks or the stone confinement of the harbour, as well as the sounds we hear when we swim inside it.
With these thoughts in mind, I started recording some of the sounds of the waves and splashes at various times. Then I started editing this material and modifying it by adding various effects and combining other sounds and noises. The editing and creation of the final result was done with the program Audacity and the material I used was a combination of recordings I made, with ready-made sounds (noises) from free libraries from the internet."
