AVARTS Live Game Hub is an action aiming to bring together new game designers and creators and showcase their ideas to the public. It is organized by teachers of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts with a coordinating core of Vassilis Komianos, Varvara Garnelis, and Emmanuel Rovithis, and is staffed by students who are actively involved in creating games.

The 7th Audiovisual Arts Festival took place in June 2013. The festival program included, among other art events, interactive audiovisual installations, live electronic music performances and exhibitions with works from both students and guest artists. Honorable reference in the program was the collaboration of EPHMEE with the EU project Listening Cities “Sound and City”, an initiative including electroacoustic music works, seminars and lectures by distinguished international artists and researchers such as Colin Black, Yanna Black, Simon Emmerson and Bill Kapralos. The innovation in AVfest 2013 was the first open call for the 2-day symposium "Art and Interculturality in the Mediterranean Region: departing from antiquity – looking towards the future" co-organized by the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University and the Region of Ionian Islands. Counting among other speakers with Avi Rosen (IL), Julia Logothetis (AT) and Katerina Zaharopoulou (GR) the symposium’s keynotes were Maria Kampouri-Vamvoukou (GR) and Marc Mercier (FR). The 7th Audiovisual Arts Festival was also the beginning of the digital book series of the Audio & Visual Arts Department with the publication of the proceedings of the Symposium Art and Interculturality in the Mediterranean Region.
