The Interactive Arts Laboratory 'inArts' of the Department of Audiovisual Arts of the Ionian University participates in the 16th Athens Digital Arts Festival with 70 works by undergraduate, graduate students, students of the newly established OPEN ART Lifelong Learning Program, graduates and faculty. The Exhibition is taking place in Asomaton square and the pedestrian street of Ermou (THISIO Station), from Thursday, October 8 until Sunday, October 18.

The 4th World Congress on Geriatrics and Neurodegenerative Diseases Research “GeNeDis 2020″ entitled ‘Health in Aging and Mental Wellness in the new digital era’ will be held exclusively online, 8th to 11th October, 2020. GeNeDis 2020 is oranized by the Bioinformatics and Human Electrophysiology Lab (BIHELab) of the Department of Informatics, Ionian University, under the patronage of H.E. the President of the Hellenic Republic Mrs Katerina Sakellaropoulou.

The aim of the Ionian Contemporary Animation Festival ICONA 2020 is to present the best from the field of animation from all around the world. GOLEM - To be generative in solidarity rather than creative in solitude is an online collective performance event, curated by the collaborator of InArts Francesco Kiais. The virtual exhibition space will open to the public on June 5, with the vernissage at 18.00 GMT+3, which will be a presentation of the guests’ of honor participating artworks. On June the 6th and 7th the virtual exhibition space will be open to the public where an archive of the participating works will be presented.

Harvard’s Center for Hellenic Studies (CHS) is pleased to offer two fellowships to Greek Universities’ junior faculty members (Adjunct Lecturers, Lecturers or Assistant Professors) and Scientific and Laboratory Teaching Staff who hold a PhD (“ΕΔΙΠ” and "ΕΕΠ"), from Schools of Humanities and Social Sciences, in order to join the Harvard Summer Program in Nafplio and Thessaloniki, Greece.

The artist Francesco Kiàis, collaborator of InArts Lab, has been invited at the VENICE INTERNATIONAL PERFORMANCE ART WEEK (Venice, 15-18/1/2020). The Department of Audio and Visual Arts and the Interactive Arts Lab (InArts) will collaborate as cultural partners.

Ionian University / Dept. of Audio & Visual Arts was selected by the Greek Diaspora Fellowship Program (GDFP) to host an scholar from Canada to work with on a collaborative project on Game Audio, Sound Design and Augmented Reality Audio. The Ionian University incorporates now a University Museum, an institution with a history in Europe since the 17th century. University museums belong to a special category of museums that are hosted in the premises of academic institutions and aim at promoting knowledge and familiarizing the academic community with museum spaces.
