Released in July 2022, the new book published in Zagreb, Croatia, by KONTEJNER, with title Arc-hive: Case Studies and Life as an Object, includes the article “Digital Semiotics for Biomedia Art” by Dalila Honorato, Associate Professor of the Dept. of Audio & Visual Arts of the Ionian University

The book is a two-part publication offering valuable insights to the challenges of working with biomedia, with special focus on preservation, archiving and digitisation. The book, with ISBN 978-953-7985-11-0 and editors Ena Hodžić, Olga Majcen Linn, Jurica Mlinarec and Luja Šimunović, is digitally available for free download here Arc-hive_Case_Studies_and_Life_as_an_Object.pdf

Arc-hive is the first open source digital platform to generate, centralize and share knowledge about artworks based on living materials or systems. Arc-hive has been possible thanks to the collaboration between six European partner institutions with diverse and complementary profiles that develop their activities within the museum, publishing, IT and audiovisual fields: Kersnikova (Slovenia), KONTEJNER | biro suvremene umjetničke prakse (Croatia), Hangar.org (Spain), Bioart Society (Finland), Museum voor Natuurwetenschappen - Muséum des Sciences naturelles (Belgium) and Cultivamos Cultura (Portugal), which leads the project.
