"TRIBUTE TO KONSTANTINOS THEOTOKIS: Approaches to the Life and Work of the Corfiot Author"

The Society for Corfiot Studies – Solomos Museum, in collaboration with the Ionian Islands Region and the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, as part of the events celebrating the 20th anniversary of its establishment, is organizing a "Tribute to the author Konstantinos Theotokis" on Thursday, June 13, Friday, June 14, and Saturday, June 15, 2024.

Scheduled events:

1. Thursday, June 13, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM at the Ceremony Hall of the Ionian Academy:Screening of the film "Slaves in Their Bonds" by director Tonis Lykouresis, with the director himself in attendance. Opening of the screening by Assistant Professor of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, Dr. Iakovos Panagopoulos.
2. Friday, June 14, 7:00 PM at the Hall of the Society for Corfiot Studies – Solomos Museum:Presentation of the Soundscape for the periodic exhibition "Incorrupt Word – Konstantinos Theotokis and the universality of a place" by Apostolos Loufopoulos and Thanasis Epitedeios (in collaboration with the Department of Audio and Visual Arts), video excerpts from K. Theotokis' works by the Ionian University Theatre Group "...the dream of the little ones is to make everyone small" directed by Iakovos Panagopoulos (in collaboration with the Department of Audio and Visual Arts), and screening of an ERT documentary about K. Theotokis directed by Giorgos Kalogiannis featuring Giannis Dallas. Honored guest: the director of the film "Slaves in Their Bonds," Tonis Lykouresis.
3. Saturday, June 15, 7:00 PM at the Hall of the Society for Corfiot Studies – Solomos Museum:Opening of the exhibition of works by Markos Zavitsianos (donated by Dimitrios M. Theotokis), Nikos Kokkalis, and Ludi Spaapen, themed "Corfiot Stories of K. Theotokis." Presentation of Educational and Informative Programs, mention of Corfiot Collectors of documents, and publications about K. Theotokis, and screening of the digital composition "Images of a Life" directed by Panagiotis Tsigoulis.
