AKOUSMATA is the annual series of events presented by the Laboratory of Electroacoustic Music Research and Applications (ΕΡΗΜΕΕ) in collaboration with the Laboratory of Performance Environments in the Arts (PEARL) at the Festival of Audiovisual Arts organized by the Department of AudioVisual Arts of the Ionian University. The program includes works by students from the Department of Music Studies (DMS) and the Laboratory of Electroacoustic Music Research and Applications (ΕΡΗΜΕΕ).

ATHAS - GLOBAL STORY: MOM, WHERE DID YOU FIND THAT JERK? (05:34)
A tape piece born of humor and irony, lasting just five and a half minutes. A sonic landscape, rooted in the here and now, oscillating between hi-fi, lo-fi, and noise, as well as the spectrum of our ultimately hyper-complex, bleakly violent, and narrative-driven lives—with the ugly and the very ugly—which create the dual nature of the ridiculous-oppressive 21st century. A tribute to the mother, an everyday heroine, a fighter against the stupidity of the world beyond.
Andreas Trichakis - Ruins/Love/Death (08:43)
Ruins, Love and Death described in the context of an ego death in an immersive drone of three parts. The feeling that brings the grief of my old ego is presented by the long and deep textures of the drone.
Aris Kazantzis - CoOKiNg MinIaTurE! (01:26)
A miniature composed completely spontaneously in a single day. The whole process reminded me a lot of cooking without a specific recipe. The ingredients were different recordings I had, which I combined in various ways.
Gavrilos Chatzivasileiou - "into the cosmic sea - first signs of life" (11:05)
Collaborators: Nathalie Dubois Calero (Visuals), Irene Grammatikou & Spinal Cord (Choreography/Dance)
(Part of " μICROVERSE ODYSSEY"). Microverse Odyssey is a hybrid work of art that begins as a tribute to the people who once lived and suffered in the Old Psychiatric Hospital. By detecting and cultivating human and nonhuman microbial traces on an old wall from approximately that time, this project ultimately explores and artistically renders the concept of the holobiome. Gavrilos Chatzivasileiou, Nathalie Dubois Calero, Irini Grammatika, and the Spinal Cord group collaborate on a project that combines electroacoustic music, lighting, visuals, and contemporary dance. Although each contributor has a primary focus, the final result is the sum of the interactive relationships among image, sound, movement, and lighting, thereby expressing the timeless continuum of living organisms that make up a holobiome.
Thanos Tsavouselis - Lands (10:51) (2025)
“Lands” is a multichannel electroacoustic composition exploring the environment as a living system. Across four chapters—Substrate, Signals, Contingency, and Intelligence—the work reflects on the physical and informational flows that define ecological and technological existence. Through processed sound, glitch, and texture, the piece narrates the collapse and recalibration of reality.
