Mothering Nature is a co-created participatory photography project by Zoe Lomax that explores how mothers in Corfu experience, remember, and emotionally respond to environmental change. Through photographs made by local mothers, the project gathers visual reflections on religion, family, landscape, memory, and the ever-evolving relationship between people and place. These images are brought into dialogue with Lomax’s own artistic responses, forming a visual conversation between lived experience and artistic translation. The exhibition considers motherhood as a way of seeing; shaped by interdependence, vulnerability, responsibility, and care. In this way, the project creates space for mothers’ perspectives to become part of a broader conversation about ecology, memory, and collective engagement in Corfu.
Ζoe Lomax is a MARes postgraduate student.
