“Under Support” is an art installation that presents breathing as a mechanical process. The work consists of a transparent tank filled with water bubbles and a metal stand with two screens displaying medical charts (like hospital monitors) that measure oxygen. In a space reminiscent of an intensive care unit, oxygen ceases to be free and taken for granted. It becomes a precious commodity under surveillance and artificial support. The most important element is the interaction: A living forest appears on the screens. However, as the viewer approaches the work, the forest begins to be destroyed and turns to ash. Human presence itself becomes the cause of the loss of oxygen. The work confronts us with our responsibility: technology keeps us alive, because the nature around us is now struggling to breathe.
